Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback the Russian player secured his initial championship for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult period, managing just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and finally separating with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.
It is Medvedev's first trophy after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface from March of 2023.
Victory also signifies the Russian has achieved 21 championships at 21 distinct events.
"For the first time I'm at a competition with my children at once, so to win a championship is really nice," said ranked player Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my child her name was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his past six title deciders, including in Halle previously this season.
Medvedev's retrieving play style and frequent emotional displays on court had led commentators to doubt if his skill to play at the top level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to approach the net and perform positively, backed up by an improved serve.
Medvedev came back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, securing four of the final five games to go ahead.
The competitors exchanged break points in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial tour title, took control to force a decider.
Moutet defended 4 initial opportunities in a close third set before the champion secured a break to that score to serve for the match.
Appropriately, he clinched the title with a shot at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
